CEREC

This is the most recent computerized technology for the preparation of crowns ,veneers, onlays, inlays.

Teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than multiple sittings required with earlier techniques.
The teeth are prepared and then photographed using a special type of cameras that give a 3D digital model. A properietary software is then used to approximate the restoration shape in comparison to the surrounding teeth. The practitioner then refines that model using 3D CAD computer aided design software .When the design phase is complete, the information is sent to the milling unit which mills the actual restoration from a solid ceramic block using diamond burs. The restoration is then bonded to the tooth.

Advantages of CEREC restorations
CEREC technique is highly recommended in cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers as it is used in the construction of porcelain veneers for anterior teeth.
This technology is very accurate and convenient for the patient.
This accuracy is going to affect the fit of your restoration to the teeth.
The determination of tooth shade and customization is best determined chairside rather than just sending one shade to the lab.

You are always going to get a strong, natural looking crown with no metal.
